NETWORKING solutions provider D-Link today launched two new cost-effective network cameras for remote monitoring of the small business and home.

According to D-Link, the DCS-910 and DCS-2121 cameras provide an all-in-one solution for creating a surveillance camera network over an existing wired or Wi-Fi network, bringing high quality video in an easy, compact product.

The DCS-2121 Megapixel Wireless Network Camera can connect to a small business network, either wired or via Wi-Fi, to enable remote video viewing. With integrated Wi-Fi capability, the DCS-2121 can be mounted in tight corners and areas with restricted access.

Unlike standard webcams, the DCS-2121 is a complete system with a built-in CPU and web server that transmits high quality video images for security and surveillance. The DCS-2121 also allows simultaneous MJPEG and MJPEG-4 streams, has full-duplex 2-way audio and features an SD card slot for front-end storage.

The D-Link DCS-910 is a more affordable wired version, which can connect to an office or home network using standard Ethernet network cables.

According to D-Link, both cameras include network monitoring software D-ViewCam2.0, providing simultaneous viewing of up to 32 cameras with a range of remote control features. The software offers digital monitoring and motion-triggered or scheduled recording capabilities of video, audio, and events for various security applications.

Marketing Manager Andrew Mulholland said both the DCS-2121 and the DCS-910 offer ideal security solutions for small businesses on a budget, providing high-end surveillance features at an affordable price.

Both cameras can be accessed and controlled remotely from any PC or notebook over the local network or through the internet via a web browser. The cameras can be configured to detect motion, send email alerts when motion is triggered and record to a computer on the home network or attached storage devices for detailed video monitoring and playback. Both cameras also have high light sensitivity allowing for video capture in rooms with minimal lighting and deliver up to 30 frames per second at 320x240 for smooth video.

Both cameras are now available for purchase in Australia.
