A LEADER in providing Web data solutions, Websense has launched the first real-time security application, Defensio 2.0 to provide web security gateway coverage for Facebook.
According to Websense, the defence mechanism will prevent Facebook users from posting malicious and inappropriate content while enhancing the real-time threat intelligence with the Websense Web Security Gateway. It also protects users from viruses and spam unlike other security offerings which only cleans a user’s computer after it has been infected.
Websense says its Websense Web Security Gateway and Defensio analyses the links on the social Web before users try to access them, gaining intelligence of the site as well as the content and embedded links on it.
Websense claims Facebook approved the Defensio security application as part of its ongoing efforts to keep the site secure for both organisational and individual users.
