Australian security concerns on a high says Unisys Global Security Index

AUSTRALIAN security concerns are on the rise as other countries subside says Unisys Global Security Index.

According to Unisys, security concerns in the country have increased by eight points in the second half of 2009, while countries including Germany and the United Kingdom decreased by more than 20 points.

The biannual Unisys Global Security Index indicates Australia is the only country to experience an increase and the primary reasons is the internet.

The Unisys Global Security Index also found that while Australians are concerned with security in relation to protecting data and personal information.

Globally, Australians are the most willing to adopt biometric technology such as a fingerprint or iris scanning for identity protection.
