Able Security implements facial recognition system at NT Parliament

ABLE Security Group has implemented what is believed to be a first in biometric security access for any Australian parliament building.

The Sunshine Coast company has installed a facial recognition system at the Northern Territory's Parliament House in Darwin.

Able's managing director, Trevor May, said MPs and staff wanted a non-intrusive biometric authentication solution as an added layer of security to complement the existing card access control platform.

May said Bioscrypt is the only facial recognition system available in Australia with a proven international track record in a variety of industries, from immigration authorities to banking and finance.

Able was contracted to supply the $80,000 system by Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions.
